Chisos is one of our largest and most historic accommodations, beautifully preserving the original layout of our Victorian estate. Originally serving as the home’s formal parlor when built in 1887, the space features five large windows across three walls that fill the room with soft morning light. The centerpiece of the bedroom is the original historic fireplace, featuring its antique mantle, built-in mirror, and Frank Lloyd Wright-style glazed tile from a bygone era. While the home’s original fireplaces are no longer functional, we have added an electric heater insert to create a cozy, relaxing ambiance.
The room is furnished with a comfortable recliner, side table, and reading lamp, creating the perfect private corner to unwind with a book, a morning cup of coffee, or a glass of West Texas wine. After a long day of exploring Big Bend National Park, you can also head outdoors to relax in our guest hot tubs or gather around the fire pit.
For your privacy, the Chisos room features a dedicated private bathroom equipped with a modern walk-in shower. We purposely kept this bathroom located separate and directly across the hall from your room door to preserve the pristine architectural footprint of the original historic parlor. This bathroom is entirely for your exclusive use.
Your stay includes 24-hour property access, complimentary refreshments, and our handcrafted gourmet breakfast served fresh each morning using fresh, local eggs.
